Learning objectives

• Create taylor polynomials of 1-variable functions by matching derivatives
• Explore taylor series for $1/(1-x)$, $e^x$,  $\cos x$.
• Create 1st and 2nd degree taylor polynomials of 2-variable functions
• Identify local behavior (at a point) of 2-variable functions: linear, saddle point, maximum or minimum
• Find unconstrained maximum and minimum of 2-variable functions
• Work with least squares parameter fitting
